Tymes Trust Alert 2011-07 Message from Jane 29 August 2011 ====== Follow Jane on Twitter @JaneCColby or read her daily tweets at www.tymestrust.org ====== JANE'S TALK IN CARLISLE 10 SEPT and: New Sleepy Puffin stickers for Christmas! ====== September coming up. At this time of year there's often an upsurge in calls to our Advice Line. Schools reopen and the pressure to be in class typically escalates. I'll be talking about educational demands and strategies in my talk at Carlisle on 10th September at Wigton Road Methodist Church. It starts at 2pm. Come along if you can make it - I'd love to meet you. This is being organised by Carlisle ME Support Group, a Tymes Trust Partner Group. It is becoming increasingly clear that classic ME, as was already known in the 1900s, really is a persistent viral infection. No surprise there then. So I'll also be mentioning new discoveries in the virology of ME, and how to decide whether to go in for treatments you may read about. There will of course be time for questions. ADVANCE NOTICE: SLEEPY PUFFIN STICKERS FOR CHRISTMAS! It seemed too early to think about Christmas till I saw these irresistible puffins and got busy designing our 2011 stickers. Then I told Mark they were penguins (ME-brain again) so that's what it says on the link he's given me. But I'm sure they are puffins! What do you think? Look here: http://bit.ly/tt-penguin You can add a sticker in any card or on the envelope. We've got Ho Ho Ho stickers again too: http://bit.ly/tt-hoho There's no set price. Just make a donation at www.tymestrust.org/donations.htm and email us to ask for the number you want. Or send in a cheque. You can have some of each design if you like. PERSONAL NEWS Before I go I'd like to share my personal news; I just got a first class honours degree in humanities with creative writing and religious studies. The last five years have been hard work, running the Trust as well, but it was a good test of studying at distance when you still have limitations due to ME, so if anyone wants details, just email me. Take care of yourselves and I'll send more news soon.
